Gavin Stewart
Gavin received his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in July 2007. Gavin was active on campus, as he was the vice president of the Black Law Students Association, a student writer for Stetson’s newspaper, The Brief, and both a research and a teaching assistant during his final year of law school. In addition, Gavin was a member of the nationally recognized Stetson Moot Court Board and argued in three competitions, including one before the Florida Supreme Court during the 2007 Robert Orseck Memorial Moot Court Competition. He was also selected by Stetson’s faculty for inclusion in the 2007 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities for his achievements on campus.
Gavin was born in Queensland, Australia and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He attended Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey as an undergraduate. In May 2004, he graduated from Rutgers as a Henry Rutgers Scholar with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Minor in Economics. While at Rutgers, Gavin did volunteer work at the Red Cross of Central New Jersey, helping to create a marketing plan for one of their disaster relief programs. As a law student, Gavin received the Williams F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award for performing pro bono service beyond that required for graduation.
Gavin is licensed to practice in both New Jersey and Florida, as well as in the Middle District of Florida. He believes that helping clients achieve their goals is the most rewarding aspect of the practice of law. |
